    Volunteer at the Festival's for free entry into the events & classes at Swing U!

HELP NEEDED AT FESTIVALS, CLUBS & SHOWS:

These events would not be possible without the many hours that local dancers donate as volunteers. Whether you can spare just an hour or two, or want to work more hours in return for FREE or discounted admission to the event, we would be grateful for your help.

WHAT WE NEED for our dance clubs & shows:

  • Registration desk (greet people)
    1 hour in exchange for Dance.

WHAT WE NEED for December Festival:

  • Registration prep (a weekend or 2 before)

  • Registration desk (greet people)
    1 hour in exchange for a Dance or 4 hours in exchange for a Full Pass.
  • Registration desk Supervisors (check in volunteers, run desk, give volunteers dance breaks and take some yourself) A 4 hour shift in exchange for a Full Pass.
  • Contest signup's (assist in making the contests go fast)
  • Door monitors/greeters (help folks get in correct level/room & check name badges/wrist bands)
  • Videographers with their own camera!
  • Floaters (for odd jobs at the events)
  • Dance hosts willing to house teachers and special guests!
  • Postering neighborhoods (before weekends)

 

Examples of volunteer opportunities for 2010
WHAT WE NEED for Lindypendance Week:

  • Water & Homemade cookies or savories!
  • VOLUNTEERS to lay down & break down floors!
  • $ponsorships of $100 & up for total cost of $800 event total!
  • VOLUNTEERS to pass the hat.
  • Van, Truck or SUV to use to transport dance floors!
  • Videographers with their own camera!

* Provide Gay, Bi, Lesbian, Trans, 'straight' communities with dance history & education & educate the general public about same sex partner dancing!

* Provide dances.


* Provide weekly classes & maintain a dance studio.


* Provide a dance camps/festivals!
