William Beatty creates faster bands than Indigo Swing! Born in Berkelely, California, was invited to join the back-up band for a local soul group, The Numonics. Styled after the singing group 'The Temptations'. Since then he has continued on his musical journey, studying and playing a wide variety of music, from classical piano repertoire to blues, r&b, gospel and jazz. As a five-year member of a band led by the fine saxophonist Jules Broussard, William honed his skills, and upon leaving he began leading his own group, Countdown, which worked for many years as the house band at a popular night spot on Union Street in San Francisco. It was here that he met the talented vocalists Nicolas Bearde. William's experience as a touring musician is highlighted most recently by four years' traveling with the band Indigo Swing. From 1996 to 2000, the band recorded three CD's with William as the principle composer and arranger. Indigo Swing toured throughout the United States, Canada, England and Europe. They performed with Lionel Hampton and Rosemary Clooney at the Stuttgart Jazz Festival in Germany, shared a touring bill with The Brian Setzer Orchestra, and had songs placed in the movie 'The Bachelor', and on the TV series Nash Bridges. He continues to Swing San Francisco with various bands of his own and as a guest in other bands including: Corner Pocket and Big B and his Snake Oil Saviors...

The best and fastests Jump Blues!

Stompy Jones (formerly Swing Session) is a San Francisco based sextet, renowned for their jumpin' rhythm, wailing improvisations, hip charm and explosive stage show. Whether appearing at a posh supper club, concert hall, festival or down the road a piece, the solid sounds of these journeymen of jump are delivered in the romping, joyous, overwhelming style of jazz that came to be known as Rock and Roll!
Although the band was formed in 1998, its members are all veteran musicians, well steeped in the traditions of Swing, Boogie Woogie and early Rhythm and Blues!

Frisky Frolics

The Hotsy Totsy Hillbilly Jazzbos country cousins to the Frisky Frolics 1920's-30's Tin Pan Alley Troubadours.

Swing with a country style Lindy; sweet but not to slow! Similar to the Frisky Frolics but easier to dance to Lindy or any swing dance... This wily, 5-piece, ukulele-driven troupe specializes in long-forgotten musical gems of the 1920-30’s. Self-described Tin Pan Alley Troubadours, they have lovingly mined through their 78 record collections and come up with a lively and varied set of songs, combining favorite familiar standards such as Louise and Paper Moon, with obscure and novelty numbers like, Cake Eatin’ Man and I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate.
Voted “Best Band for the New Depression” by the Bay Guardian’s Best of the Bay, 2001 and; SF Weekly Wammie Nominees, the Frisky Frolics continually perform their “new” musical discoveries to a growing legion of enthusiastic fans from their home base, The Rite Spot in San Francisco.
